GREEN U FESTIVALPosted on: 2009-08-12Green U is a one day Festival for the Environment, however it is the culmination of a summer of community involvement and environmental improvement.
The event is hosted by the Huntsville Botanical Garden and is managed by a team of volunteer environmental experts from all sectors of the business and governmental communities.
The event will feature guest speakers presenting how our community can become more ecologically friendly. Regional businesses who specialize in “green” products and services will be on hand to educate and demonstrate their offerings.
Local schools will also be involved with projects, stories, games, contests and demonstrations:
• Rock Wall Climbing
• Live Music
• Story Time for Kids
• Recycling Game
• Fashion Show
Yoga and Tai Chi
• Bike Trail Ride
• Bikes used as Generators
• Solar Car Race
• Artists using Recycled Materials
• Farmer’s Market
